The following is from the declassified portion of the commendation from the Chief of Naval Operations, received by Patrol Squadron SIX in October 1958:
"Although complete and final technical evaluation has not been received, results of work performed clearly indicate that a milestone has been passed. This significant achievement resulted from an operation that was well planned, organized, and executed, and with the whole-hearted support, cooperation, and diligence of all concerned. Well done."
