The Secretary of the Navy takes pleasure in commending
PATROL SQUADRON SIX
for service as set forth in the following
CITATION:
"For extremely meritorious service to the Government of the United States while operating in the Japanese-Korean Theater during the period 30 July 1951 to 16 January 1952. In addition to carrying out its regularly assigned missions with diligence and competence, Patrol Squadron SIX expertly planned and implemented a vitally important project which resulted in the acquisition of previously unavailable information affecting tactical and strategic operations of naval warfare and served to strengthen the security of the United States Armed Forces. The splendid record achieved by this indomitable group in fulfilling a highly essential assignment in the face of adverse circumstances attests the unyielding spirit, resourcefulness and loyal devotion to duty of all its officers and men, and reflects the highest credit upon Patrol Squadron SIX and the United States Naval Service."
All personnel attached to and serving with Patrol Squadron SIX during the above period are hereby authorized to wear the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon.
